Our two Eco Pods are masterfully designed to offer a private sanctuary for couples, small families, or groups of friends. Each unit is entirely separate, ensuring complete seclusion and a sense of ‘living alone’ within the vastness of the reserve. Inside, you will find two light-filled bedrooms – each featuring its own full en-suite bathroom with a shower and bath – while a comfortable sleeper couch offers a cozy retreat for a small child.
Whether shared with loved ones or kept as a private escape for two, the pods provide a harmonious balance of social space and absolute personal quiet.

Our two Eco Pods are thoughtfully appointed with every luxury intended for a seamless escape. From the first pour of your morning coffee to the final glow of sunset on the deck, every detail has been considered to ensure your stay is as effortless as it is restorative.
Here, modern design meets the tranquility of the wilderness, providing a refined guest experience where your retreat to the Breede River requires no sacrifice on comfort.

- Contactless self-check-in for total privacy. While you are miles away, we are based in nearby Swellendam for any 30-minute emergency support.
- The Journey In High-clearance vehicle recommended for rugged farm roads. Please check local conditions 24 hours prior for any seasonal river or road updates.
Good to Know
- Cellphone reception is limited in the reserve, due to its remote location.
- Although the water is from the river and filtered, we would recommend bringing your drinking water.
- This is a very high fire risk area and working farm.
- Our private beautician is available by prior appointment.
- As a true wilderness area, please wear closed shoes on trails and remain aware of indigenous wildlife.
Preparing for your Journey
While your pod is fully equipped for a luxurious stay, the remote beauty of the reserve means a little preparation goes a long way. To ensure a seamless escape, we recommend bringing the following:
Provisions & Pantry
While we provide a welcome tray for your first night, please bring your favorite seasonal ingredients for the pizza oven and Weber braai. The nearest shops are in Swellendam (30 km) or Malgas (15 km) – remember the ferry schedule!
Sun & Shore
Pack your swimwear for the river, a wide-brimmed hat, and eco-friendly sunscreen to protect yourself while kayaking or bird watching.
Outdoor Gear
Sturdy walking shoes or mountain bikes are a must if you plan to explore our local area. Don’t forget your binoculars for our 304 recorded bird species and fishing gear for some freshwater fishing.
Warmth for the Evening
Even in summer, the Overberg evenings can be cool. Bring a light jacket or fleece for stargazing on the deck or enjoying the wood-fired hot tub.
Offline Essentials
Since cellphone reception is limited in the protected conservation area, we recommend bringing a good book, your favourite board games, and pre-downloading your Check-in PDF and maps.
